I don’t often make teapots with the intention or option of being functional but this happens to be one of those times. This vessel type teapot is meant to steep tea (tea bag required, there is no built in strainer) but should never be used to boil tea. The holes in the lid knob are actually breather holes and allow it to pour more smoothly. If this little guy never sees a drop of tea that’s ok too. It would be just as happy living beside the rest of the amazing teapots in your collection.
